Clarinet Practice Techniques – FULL BOOK!
This book is a culmination Del Hungerford’s lesson materials (over 35 years!)
Del has taught private clarinet lessons since the early 1980’s. She’s also taught in the public schools where she learned to understand the typical issues young musicians make when playing a musical instrument. This book is a compilation of materials she’s used in private lessons.
This book includes the following materials:
- Voicing in the altissimo register based on scientific research and what the inside of the oral cavity actually looks like when playing the various registers of the clarinet.
- A full study on articulation from beginning to advanced. Several exercises are included throughout the full register of the clarinet.
- Scales, arpeggios, and thirds in all registers with alternate fingerings.
- A section on basic music theory to assist students in understanding key signatures, enharmonics, and the order of sharps and flats.
- An entire section devoted to the altissimo register of the clarinet. Many exercises are included!
- Many practice tips and games throughout the book!
As a public school teacher, Del learned that students don’t often learn note names, fingerings, and reading music well… all at the same time. Her process starts with learning note names and fingerings before adding sheet music.
This book is full of tidbits of knowledge from her years of teaching private clarinet. TOTAL Page count: 75 printable pages (PDF format)
